For years, the Cabriel river has been a frontier area. Iberians, Romans and Muslims have left their footprint here. The river has witnessed bloody battles to rule over the area.

Because of the Mediterranean climate, with continental influences, most of the days are sunny. In this wild environment you can find the typical Mediterranean forest, with pine trees and other original species. Among the original fauna stand out the birds of prey and aquatic animals.

The typical dishes of the area are very energizing (stews, gazpachos, sausages, tortas magras) and it is important the influence of the olive oil and the red wine (Utiel-Requena wine region).
